Are you needing therapy to fit into your busy lifestyle and would like to see a counselor or a weekday evening or Saturday? Maybe you are experiencing stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, or something else that is making you feel “off”. Are you on the verge of a major life change and trying to figure out next steps? Looking for support for caregivers, educators, newly diagnosed with a chronic illness or mental health disorder? Do you need a supportive and encouraging advocate in your corner? We often have different roles and identities often at the same time. Balancing it all can be tricky. Let’s work together in empowering you to find your right path!

So What Now?

Summer time is about to be in full swing, so for many folks that means that there’s a BREAK! A reprieve; a slower pace. When those sweet days finally come up on the calendar, you may start to feel a strange feeling of dread. This may be surprising or even frustrating when you were expecting to feel bliss and relaxation. Why is this emotion popping up? As humans, we are mostly creatures of habit and routine. When our normal routine is changed for any reason, it is common to feel uneasy. We also may feel worried that we aren’t living up to our full potential “summer self” and FOMO creeps in.

So what should you do to quell said dread? Experiment and see what works best for you. Do you like checking items off lists? Have a daily to-do list (even if the items are: nap in hammock, organize junk drawer, or practice facial expressions in the mirror). Spend time in nature (when it’s not 150 degrees out!), connect with a friend, find a hobby; or start envisioning what you want the second part of your calendar to look like! Summer is a GREAT time to plan and set intentions and goals, or start working with a therapist. A Licensed Professional Counselor has expertise to help you get to the core of what you truly are seeking to enhance your life. I would be happy to get to know you and your story!
